Mango Passionfruit Cheesecake uses our seasonal fruit in a rich and creamy dessert.

We have three huge mango trees, several passion fruit vines and three lime trees which all mature in the months of June, July and August on our property.

Our quest to find new recipes combining these three seasonal fruits continues this year with a showstopping mango passionfruit cheesecake.

Its July and our Caribbean mangoes are in full mango splendour. They hang like huge green and gold earrings, suspended on long slim stems, from the mango trees which grow 70 feet high and more!

Since my last post I’ve been steadily enjoying mangos and since it’s one of life’s pleasures that have numerous health benefits, I’m feeling great! Few things in the world are more satisfying than biting in to a ripe and juicy mango. The sensory pleasure that comes from the taste, texture and the feeling of the juice running down your arm is a pure delight!

Mango season in the Caribbean is at its height right now and there is an abundance of fruits throughout the summer although there are always a few odd trees sprouting some off season varieties. Mangos originated in Asia and have a rich and long history. However whilst they are not indigenous to the Caribbean they have settled into the region for so many years that it would be impossible to disassociate the islands with the mango fruit.
